After her win, we asked Julie a few questions to get to know her a little better, and here’s what she had to say…
Tell us a bit about yourself
Hi I am Julie but most people know me as Jules. I’m a very special type of person, once you meet me you don’t really forget me. I am the Service Delivery Manager here at Connexin.
What is your history in the industry & how did you get to this stage in your career?
I kind of fell into this industry… I started at a Computer Repair shop when I was 19 fixing phones and computers. After a few years, the owner decided to launch Wisper Broadband so I spent a lot of time and hard work assisting him with that while still running the shops, before eventually taking on the position of Operations Manager as Wisper took over. It was all a bit of a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
What drives/motivates you?
For myself I’ve always had the urge to grow and develop myself. I won’t stop until all my goals are met. I am very driven in everything I do I love to push myself every day. For my team seeing them crack on and progress in their roles motivates me to keep doing my job.
What are you most proud of in your career so far?
Connexin acquiring Wisper Broadband was the best moment in my career so far. Knowing I helped build up a company like that, then having it be acquired by a company like Connexin is mad, but I’m so proud I was able to be a part of it!
How long have you been at Connexin?
It will be 1 year in April.
How do you feel about winning your award?
Winning the award made me proud of myself after only been at Connexin a short time it’s a great personal achievement for me to know people voted for me but I wouldn’t be where I am without the support of the Service team day in day out.
What does your job role entail?
As Service Delivery Manager my main focus is supporting my team in making sure we are delivering a high standard of customer service to all of our customers. Customers are the most important part happy customers make a happy team! But my second focus is helping and guiding the amazing team I have around me seeing them progress and pushing them to be the best they can be.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Every day is different you never know what you are going to come into in a morning, but it always starts with a brew. After that it’s usually checking any tickets that come in overnight and setting the team up for the day to crack on with our daily tasks.
What excites you most about your job?
Seeing the team having fun whilst providing our customers a high quality service. I am very lucky to be building a strong team around me it excites me to see the direction we are heading in. We’re doing some amazing things at Connexin and it’s great to be a part of it all.
