We’re ending the broadband monopoly.

Dear Hull and East Riding,

We are extremely excited and proud to announce that we are ending the broadband monopoly in our home city of Hull.

Alex and I both moved to Hull over 25 years ago, where we met in Year 7 at school. Hull is our home, and Connexin was founded here to challenge the monopoly and drive local innovation. We have experienced first-hand the struggle of having no real choice in broadband provider and the knock-on effects on people’s lives and businesses in the area.

Over the years we have tried working collaboratively with the incumbent to create a fair broadband marketplace, but we faced obstacle after obstacle. So last year, we made the decision to raise and invest £80m into our region to build a brand new independent full-fibre network to create new digital jobs and bring consumers and businesses in Hull and East Riding choice!

We have been working on this project behind the scenes for over a year and have already started the build, with the first homes expected to be connected by the end of 2021.

The people of Hull and the East Riding deserve better from their broadband supplier and every aspect of our new network has been designed with customer experience in mind.

Hull deserves great customer service. Hull deserves choice. Hull deserves rewards for loyal customers and most importantly, Hull deserves a better broadband supplier.

Oh, and did we mention that we’re not just building a new fibre network capable of 1Gb speeds… ours is built to handle speeds of up to 10Gb!
