On 21st September, Connexin competed against other local businesses in a charity 5-a side football tournament organised by the Echoes Foundation and in support of their cause.
Connexin had sent out a strong side, made up of Alex Yeung, Gary Clark, Mark Dunn, Jack Chapman, Dylan Davies, John Williamson and Ali Mustafa, where they were unfortunately defeated in the semi final round. However, pride was salvaged as they won the play off match for 3rd place, with Alex Yeung scoring the eventual winner on this occasion.
Alex had this to say after the competition: “It was a great day out for the Connexin team and a great cause to support. We enjoyed playing and would be happy to do something like this with Echoes charity again.”
Although it was a fun occasion for all the participants of this friendly tournament, it is important to be aware of the work that Echoes Foundation does for the community. Echoes Foundation is a charity based in Hull and provides support to families with children that may have disabilities or special needs.
The group aims to provide an environment whereby families are able to contact other families that are in similar circumstances, forming a support group. They not only provide children with the opportunity to receive the deserved support and treatment, they also provide parents and family members a guide to disabilities and ultimately determine what is best for their child.
