What you'll be doing:

As Supply Chain & Inventory Manager you will oversee the critical path of our product supply chain – from agreeing terms with our suppliers, overseeing the creation and issue of purchase orders, and owning tracking and receiving goods in and supporting a strong level of stock control at our warehouse. You will ensure a cost effective and professional procurement service, balancing commercial requirements with the operational needs of the business. You will be responsible for contract management of our Supply Chain partner, and work closely with our Finance team to handle any billing queries and supplier communications, and present reports on spending activity. You will play an integral role within the Connexin team and will bring a wealth of proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify new suppliers based on business requirements

Build and maintain good supplier relationships

Obtain quotes for new products using the pre-defined
framework

Negotiate costs and coordinate the shipment of products from
suppliers and partners

Own the process to create, issue and coordinate purchase
orders, and ensure all teams are following the company
process

Oversee goods in activity – supporting warehouse teams and
ensuring adequate cover is provided where necessary

Work with business units to determine the minimum and
maximum stock quantities and re-order requirements

Support warehouse staff with periodic stock takes as
required, to ensure that the correct levels of stock are
available at all times

Act as the Subject Matter Expert for all procurement and
inventory systems and processes – providing training for
peers where required

Lead on the identification and delivery of improvements and
changes to procurement and inventory systems and
processes – applying a continuous improvement mindset to
ensure that costs are kept low and quality kept high

Own the relationship with our nominated Supply Chain
Partner, Anixter – analysing their performance and ensuring
that a quality and cost-effective service is being provided

Define periodic reports and Management Information on all
aspects of procurement and inventory – presenting findings
from your analysis and recommending improvements

Work closely with the Finance team to reconcile any
discrepancies with invoices, to support audits, spend
allocation to budgets, and to ensure general good account
health with suppliers.

Ensure a good level of document management across all
procurement-related files

Work with the wider team to ensure that invoices are paid in a
timely manner

Work with the wider team to ensure that budgets / cost codes
are in place and being used correctly

Essential Skills & Competencies:

Essential Experience:

Must have at least 3 year’s experience in either a
procurement or finance role

Experience in procurement, buying, production, and/or stock
level monitoring in a warehouse environment would be
advantageous.

Previous experience in a telecommunications or tech
company is desirable.

Essential Qualifications:

GCSE Maths and English C or above (or equivalent)

Desirable Skills & Experience:

CIPS accreditation

A degree in a related subject (such as economics, business management)
