How easy it is to setup Connexin?

Setting your number up is simple. In most cases it's automatic and as simple as turning a phone on! However, if you prefer to setup manually you can! All you need is your username, password and our server address. We have several setup guides available online to make getting started a doddle. Please feel free to contact support if you require any assistance getting setup.

How does MAC Address Filtering affects my connection?

MAC address filtering by routers to control, which devices can connect to a network and access the internet. Each device has its own unique MAC address this is usually written somewhere on the device itself. If you use MAC address filtering then you must grant your Connexin device access to the internet by adding its MAC address to the allowed list on your router.

Do I need to open any ports on my router?

You should not need to do this. However a minority of customers find that the firewall on their routers/modem blocks incoming Voice calls. The commonest cause for this is that your router is blocking port 5060. To remedy this please unblock this port (some routers refer to this as port forwarding). If you need help doing this please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

How do firewalls affect my connection?

Some customers find that they can make calls but not receive any incoming voice calls. The commonest cause for this is that a firewall on your computer or router is blocking our voice carrying port, port 5060. To remedy this please unblock this port (some routers refer to this as port forwarding). If you need help doing this please contact us using the support console and we’ll be happy to help-there may be a charge for this.

How do anti-virus software affect my connection?

We strongly recommend you keep your antivirus software up to date. Antivirus programmes do not really interfere with VoIP. Please see “how do firewalls affect my connection”

How do I setup my Connexin PC phone?

How do I setup my Connexin IP phone?

The basic settings all IP phones require are your username, VoIP password and our sever (or domain) address. These details can be found in the email that was sent to you when you signed up. For setup instructions for specific devices please refer to our setup guides, which can be found here.
