VoIP calling is
not a function exclusive to SIP hardware phones, or computer
based softphones. Using the Symbian S60 operating system in
your Nokia E or N series phone, you can carry your VoIP
number with you and access it from any available wireless
network, wherever you go.
Please ensure you are using the latest version of the S60
operating system to ensure compatibility and that your phone
options are up to date and reflective of this document. To
download the Nokia Software Updater for your phone, please
visit http://www.nokia.com and follow the prompts to their
support site. From there, you can download the latest
version of the Nokia Software Updater, and update the latest
version of S60 into your phone.
Before enabling your VoIP account within your phone, please
ensure you have set up a Wireless Access Point. For
assistance in configuring your Wireless Access Point, please
view the Wireless Access Point Configuration Guide. If you
have already configured your Wireless Access Point, please
follow the guide below to configure your Connexin SIP
account for use with your phone.

Internet Telephone is the program within the S60
operating system that allows you to make VoIP calls, these
settings are what it reads when you prompt the program to
connect to the SIP account.

Return to the Settings menu, then select Call.
Scroll down until you find Default call type and set
this to Internet. Now, whenever you attempt to make a
call your phone will automatically use the VoIP account if
it is activated, if this is unavailable, it will fall back
to standard cellular mobile activity.
Your Connexin VoIP account is now configured to be used with
your Nokia S60 phone, but we have one last hint to make
utilising the VoIP function of your phone that much easier.
To create a shortcut button from your default menu, for
enabling your VoIP account when near a Wireless Access
Point, follow these steps.

Return to the Settings menu, and select Phone.

Select Standby mode.

These options will be available. The Left and
Right selection key options refer to the buttons that
activate the option available in the bottom left and right
hand corners of your standby menu. By default, they should
be Messaging for the left, and Contacts for
the right.
We recommend altering one of these options to Internet
Telephone. This will give you a shortcut from your
standby menu to easily enable your VoIP account when within
wireless range.

Once you have completed these steps, press Back
repeatedly until you are returned to the standby screen. In
the bottom corner of the screen, you will now find the
Internet tel. shortcut that you just enabled. Press the
corresponding button.

The phone will begin to look for your specified Wireless
Access Point that you configured earlier, if it can not find
this Access Point, it will prompt you to choose another that
is within range. The phone will display this screen whilst
it attempts to connect to the Access Point, and then our
VoIP servers.

Once the phone has successfully connected, it will advise
you of this, and return to the standby screen. The icon
circled in this image will now be visible in the top right
hand corner, this means that your VoIP phone number is
logged on and able to be used.
Any calls that you make now will automatically use VoIP
until you leave wireless range, then the phone shall revert
to the standard cellular mode.
To test that the phone is working correctly, make a test call to 789. If
the call is successful you will be presented with a recorded
message.
Congratulations! Your Connexin VoIP account is now
configured for use with your Nokia S60 operating system.
