Who is Connexin?

Connexin is the future of telephony. With Connexin you can pick your own number, call internationally for FREE*, take your number with you wherever you go (even if you go abroad!). Connexin works similarly to Skype but uses SIP technology to give you real freedom allowing you to talk without a having a computer switched on all the time - saving YOU money! All you need to get started is broadband a phone and someone to call!

What is VoIP?

VoIP stands for Voice over internet protocol. Put simply VoIP is a way of carrying phone calls over the internet rather than over conventional phone lines. Carrying voice in this digital form has many benefits including better quality, cheaper calls and increased functionality.

What does Dual Mode stand for?

Dual mode refers to technology which works with VoIP and conventional telephony simultaneously. For example a dual mode mobile phone behaves like an internet phone when in an area with broadband and as standard mobile phone at all other times.

Is a broadband connection necessary?

The service itself can work with out broadband if all you are looking for is an inbound solution. However to make outbound calls you will require a broadband connection. We recommend minimum download and upload speeds of 512kbps and 100kbps respectively. The higher the speed, the better the quality.

Can I change my Connexin phone number after registration?

Yes this can be done but may be subject to additional charges. Please contact support for more information.

Can I add more numbers to my Connexin account?

Yes you can! In fact this is a simple process. All you have to do is sign up a number through the signup process and email us and we'll do the rest!

What happens to my service if I move?

The service is very flexible and can be used anywhere in the world where you have a broadband connection. This effectively means you can have a UK number working in the USA! Can I ring non-Connexin phone numbers?

Yes you can ring any number in the world! The service works like another phone! The benefit of ringing other Connexin users is that all calls between Connexin customers regardless of where they live are FREE - saving you money!

Does Connexin work with dial up connection?

We recommend minimum download and upload speeds of 512kbps and 100kbps respectively.
